Fringe is a grand celebration of everything odd, creative, crooked and festive stirring in Norwegian cultural life. It's about what actually concerns you: the strange, funny, touching and unexpected stories. Whether you're curious, a regular, or just looking for something other than an ordinary night out, you'll find it here.
Our goal
OSLO FRINGE is the independent scene's own festival — and Oslo's own city celebration!
The greater part of the performing arts field now sits outside the big institutions. In Oslo alone, more than 1,000 performing artists work on the independent scene, making work of such calibre that Europe now looks north for development and innovation in the performing arts.
Oslo is pulsing! And Fringe is here to lift up everyone on the independent scene, so that together we build a shared arena that champions new performing arts — a place where Oslo audiences can discover all the amazing work being made.
Together we will shape a new, bolder, more approachable performing arts culture in Norway.
Fringe Ung
Are you between 15 and 19 years old? Do you want to see a lot of theatre? Remember that next year you can sign up for our mentor programme "Fringe Ung" and see every performance at the festival for free! Keep an eye on the website for next year's sign-up!
Free children's theatre and cheap youth theatre
Thanks to support from Sparebankstiftelsen and the City of Oslo, all children's theatre at Centralteatret and in Festivalgata is free, and youth tickets to the youth performances cost only 50 NOK!
Fringe × Oslo Nye
Oslo Nye is stepping up its investment in the independent scene, inviting more and more artists to programme performances at Teaterkjeller'n, Caféscenen, and now also at Centralteatret. Fringe is very proud to be part of Oslo Nye's commitment to the independent scene!
